Meet Our Attorneys

Carolina Criminal Defense was founded by attorney Benjamin Hasty and includes senior attorney Andre Coaxum. Together, the firm’s attorneys bring experience from prosecution, judicial chambers, and private criminal defense to representing people facing DUI charges, criminal allegations, and serious traffic-related matters.

Benjamin Hasty previously served as an assistant solicitor in South Carolina’s Sixteenth Judicial Circuit, including significant work prosecuting DUI cases in York County. Andre Coaxum previously served as a judicial law clerk and as an assistant solicitor in the Sixth Judicial Circuit, where his work included DUI prosecutions in Lancaster, Chester, and Fairfield Counties.

Those experiences provide valuable insight into how criminal cases are evaluated by prosecutors and courts, but the firm’s work begins with the individual client. Every case requires careful preparation, clear communication, and a defense strategy built around the actual evidence and the consequences that matter most to the person accused.

Where we serve

Based in York County, we serve clients in Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Tega Cay, York, Clover, Lake Wylie, and surrounding communities. We also regularly handle cases in nearby counties including Lancaster, Chester, Union, and Cherokee.
